Pantone’s Fashion Color Report :: Spring 2015

So… according to Punxsutawney Phil {the groundhog}, we have six more weeks of winter?! Ugh! Well, he can’t stop a girl from dreaming…

It’s always exciting when Pantone releases their Fashion Color Reports. There’s the obvious fashion-related reasons, but it also signifies change. Change is exciting, right?

The theme of Spring 2015 is a minimalistic “En Plein Air.” Two words that immediately come to mind are “ethereal” & “nature.” This spring will be a season of cooler & softer colors with subtle warm tones. The color of the season is Marsala!

Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out & create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology & unwind, giving ourselves time to stop & be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated. Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle & bustle.”  ~Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute

I’m typically not a pastel type of gal but there’s something about the earthiness of this palette that I like. It’s natural & unrefined, & isn’t that the general trend amongst everything right now?…  From cleaning supplies to food, & now our spring wardrobe!

I love it! What do you think about Pantone’s 2015 Spring Fashion Color Report??
