The Little Things: Summer Edition

It’s the little things that add up to fill our lives with joy.

School’s Out for The Summer!

The first little thing about summer that I appreciate is that school is out! No more waking up at 5:40 a.m., no more homework, no more driving back & forth to school. Ahhhh… a break for all of us.

Of course, we did just assign our girls book reports. So they’re not very happy with us at the moment. But we can’t just let them lay around watching Netflix all summer while their brains turn to mush, now can we?

The second thing I appreciate about summer is simply being outside. We have more daylight hours, the weather is warm, & Louisville is a beautiful city. We have gorgeous parks & plenty of places to explore. My oldest daughter plays travel ball {softball}, so we’ll be outside often. I’m not a fan of cold weather, so summer makes me happy!

Saving the best for last, my most favorite thing about summer is that I get more time to spend with the people I love most! My family. My husband & my two daughters. Well, that’s not entirely true. Now that my daughters are older, 13 & 15, they’re more independent, social, & active. But still, we’re not as time-pressured as when they’re in school
